Describe what role you play at your company?

Currently I lead a team of Chemists in the 'New Business' group of NPAC's Technical Department. I support them by coaching each employee to develop both their project management and technical skills and knowledge; preparing them for customer interactions. Our group strives to excel in New Business promotion opportunities revolved around new customers and new technologies for North America. My background and experience within the 'Existing Business' group includes having spent 1year in Japan at NPAU, and 1 year at Toyota's headquarters TEMA (previously in Erlanger, KY). These opportunities have allowed me to accelerate my career and grasp a deeper understanding of both the R&D and Customer processes and mindsets, which I target to directly apply to the job atmosphere and new business approach at NPAC.

What do you like best at your company?

I truly enjoy being part of a smaller subsidiary within a large corporation. I have been given unique opportunities to develop my career in ways that are not widely offered across the industry, and NPAC does well at showing appreciation for my efforts. I feel as if I can truly make an impact at my company, which has been quickly and consistently expanding and growing it's network in North America over the past 6 years. The people I work with on a daily basis make it feel like home, and contribute to my desire to learn and develop at NPAC. The Technical, Production, Sales, Quality and Planning team members and group leaders have contributed to my growth and knowledge by providing support and explanation of various methods and procedures.

What do you like most about your job?

I like the challenge and gratification that has come along with my position and career; the variety of work and the change of pace from one day to the next has allowed me to continuously grow not only as an employee, but also as a person. I have the chance to join video conferences and discussions with counterparts in Mexico and Japan, work with Chemists on lab work and project management, work independently on reporting and scheduling, and make visits to the customer to support trials and represent the company. The opportunities my job has given me has helped define me as a professional and has contributed to my unique individuality.

What skills or personal traits do you have that contribute to your success?

I think my open-minded personality combined with my passion to be a valuable member of my company has been a key contributor to my accomplishments. I strive to utilize the resources available to me and ask the correct questions to the appropriate people. Without having the willingness to learn and develop to become a key member committed to NPAC, I would not be as successful as I am today.

What do you like to do when you're not at work?

I like to focus on the balance of a healthy physical, mental and social lifestyle. Spending quality time with my friends, family and fiancé (and don't forget the cat ;-)) is important to me. My life long hobby is running and my more recent fixation is yoga. Both are means to clear my mind and optimize my energy levels to try and be a more enjoyable person for myself and those around me.
